I was born and raised in Essex, MD. It's about 4
miles east of Baltimore City in Baltimore County. I'm the first born
to Charles A. (Sonny) Schultz and Lorraine E. (Buttons) McQuay who did a
pretty good job for son of a bulldozer operator and the daughter of a tax
cab driver. Raising 4 kids (Me, then Dan, Scott, and Patricia) in
the sixties was pretty much the norm for a newly married couple.
They both worked hard to make sure we had it better than they did.
If there's one thing I was brought up to believe, it was that I can do
anything! To spite all odds, I was the only thing that could truly
stop me from achieving my dreams. Anything is possible... it's all
about believing in yourself, and working hard to get what you want.
I guess it was this building block that led me to over a dozen tophies for
any sport you can think of, Eagle Scout, 2nd Vice President of my Senior
Class, and eventually to Broadway! Even working as a Mortgage Broker
I feel like I'm beating the odds. I always new that I couldn't punch
a time clock. I watched my father do it for 30 years, and that
wasn't the road I was gonna travel. |
